Your generous donations help many young people financially and scholastically prepare for their entrance in to college. Music Projects such as the one below is typical of the kind of service that MSM Arts, Inc bring to the local community.

Eighteen (18) students were selected to participate in a one week Jazz Camp at The Historic Lyric Theater from May 28, 2007 to June 1 in Miami, Florida. The Jazz Camp Culminated with a concert performance by the MSM Jazz Camp Student Orchestra on June 2, 2007 and was aired on BET J television as a documentary. World Class Jazz Trumpeter and Arranger/Composer, Melton Mustafa directed this prestigious Jazz Camp. Highly qualified jazz musicians were on board to prepare the students for a performance in a concert to the theme “THIS JOINT IS JUMPIN.” This was a day of shear excitement and very good music highlighting the golden age of swing and bebop jazz.

In addition, one outstanding student from the Jazz Camp was selected to perform one selection with International known George Duke and Kirk Whalem on Friday night, June 1, 2007. In the Jazz Camp, students were instructed in the art of jazz improvisation, ensemble playing, jazz interpretation, articulation, arranging and musicianship. Of the 18 students participating in the Jazz Camp, 10 students were selected to receive a music scholarship each of $1,000 from MSM Arts Jazz Scholarship Fund.
